What are we working on right now?
We're experimenting with a service that will aggregate all Mason twitterfeeds...perhaps we'll begin archiving them--haven't decided about that yet. A shout-out to NCSU for sharing their Zend framework-based PHP code which forms the basis of what we're trying to do. You can view the current form of the service at:

A larger project is development of 'research portals.' We're combining WordPress and the Scout Internet Portal Toolkit to create what we hope will be our next-generation tool for discipline-based information management for our librarians. A place where they can become curators of their online knowledge domains. Track our progress at:

  • The site that explains the whole thing
  • BioInformatics
  • Global Research and Education
  • E Pluribus Unum, Colonial History 1619-1825
  • Bioengineering
  • Nursing Administration
  • Neuroscience
  • Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  • Biodefense
  • Metafinder This little searchbox is one we're using to test out things with our soon-to-be-revealed "MetaFinder." Using software from Deep Web Technologies, we're building federated search engines for our research portals.

A work-in-progress—an OAI harvesting search engine we've installed. If you know an OAI source in Virginia that we're not tracking, send us an email and we'll include it.
